▪  Use garbage disposal sparingly.

It may be convenient, but your garbage disposal is a water hog, using 10 gallons or more to digest that waste every time you use it. Instead of putting vegetable waste down the drain, save those leaves, rinds and stems for making compost. Not only do you save water, but the compost will be “garden gold,” free fertilizer for your plants.
