Cracker Barrel planned for this Sacramento suburb
Lovers of Southern food – and a well-stocked gift shop – rejoice: There’s a Cracker Barrel coming to Rocklin.
The city’s Planning Commission is being asked to approve the development plan Thursday for the Rocklin Station project that includes a new Cracker Barrel, Chick-fil-A and Del Taco. It’s also got a Habit Burger and another yet-to-be-named restaurant.
Cracker Barrel has long been rumored to be considering placing a store in the Sacramento region. Rocklin City Manager Rick Horst even mentioned the possibility in his state of the city address in March.
The Planning Commission agenda appears to be the first confirmation that the chain restaurant is headed to the region.
Rocklin Station sits on a 6.6-acre site near the intersection of Sierra College Boulevard and the Interstate 80 off-ramp.
Cracker Barrel has nearly 700 restaurants in more than 40 states. The company opened its first restaurant in Tennessee in 1969, before spreading through the South and Midwest.
The company announced last week that it would open a restaurant in Sacramento in 2018.
