Bicyclist killed by driver on Arden Way identified as 31-year-old Sacramento man
A bicyclist killed in a collision Saturday on Arden Way was identified by the Sacramento coroner as Ryan Keith Garabedian, a 31-year-old Sacramento man.
Garabedian was riding his bicycle northbound at about 7 p.m. when he was struck by a westbound motorist, Sacramento police said. The incident occurred in front of 167 Arden Way, in a residential area of North Sacramento.
Callers to 911 reported an unresponsive man lying in the roadway, said Sgt. Vance Chandler, a police spokesman. Fire personnel pronounced Garabedian dead at the scene.
The unidentified driver initially fled the scene but later called police to tell them he was involved in the collision. There was no indication the driver, who cooperated with the investigation, was impaired or intoxicated, Chandler said.
