Girl whose body was found in Sacramento storage locker died 2 weeks before, affidavit says

A Nevada 5-year-old whose body was found this week in a storage locker in Sacramento had been dead for nearly two weeks, according to an affidavit obtained Saturday by KCRA.

Tyler Anderson, 23, was arrested Wednesday by Sacramento police on suspicion of manslaughter after officers found a body inside a storage locker at a U-Haul storage facility on Glenrose Avenue in Sacramento, authorities said.

He is being held in the Sacramento County Main Jail without the possibility of bail.

His wife, Averyauna Anderson, was also booked into the Washoe County Jail on Wednesday, records show. Averyauna Anderson, 23, is being held on charges of child abuse with substantial bodily harm and destroying/concealing evidence.

According to the Reno police officer's affidavit obtained by KCRA, the Andersons kept the body of 5-year-old Cali Anderson in a closet at their Reno residence since May 4. They allegedly rented a U-Haul van and drove her body to Sacramento, dropping her remains in a sealed box at a friend's storage locker.

The friend was suspicious and found the duffel bag with Cali Anderson's body, according to the report.

Averyauna Anderson said to Reno detectives that Cali was unresponsive on May 4 and that she and her husband attempted CPR. They did not call emergency responders, according to the affidavit.
