Walmart store to open Wednesday in Delta Shores complex

Walmart on Wednesday will open the doors of its new Sacramento store in the sprawling Delta Shores shopping complex along Interstate 5.

Grand-opening festivities are set for 7:30 a.m. at 8270 Delta Shores Circle.

The Arkansas-based retail giant has hired about 300 people to staff the new store.

Wednesday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony also includes eight local nonprofits being presented with donations totaling more than $200,000 from the Walmart Foundation.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. oversees more than 11,500 stores under 63 banners in 28 countries, employing about 2.4 million worldwide.
