Roseville solar firm reports record revenue in second quarter

Roseville-based solar power company Sunworks Inc. reported record revenue of $31.5 million in this year’s second quarter, a 186 percent year-over-year improvement.

The local company said the revenue spike was related in part to its recent acquisition of Elite Solar near Chico.

Second-quarter net income totaled $744,000, or 4 cents per share, compared with a loss of $122,000, or a penny a share, in the second quarter of 2015.

Through six months of 2016, revenue totaled $51 million, up 205 percent from $16.7 million in the year-ago period.
