Innovation economy gets $750,000 boost
Grants totaling $750,000 will be available to boost the local innovation economy, a collaboration of four regional workforce development boards announced Thursday.
The program is part of the California Workforce Development Board’s Project SlingShot, an effort to support entrepreneurs, small businesses and startups.
The first of two competitive requests for proposals started Friday , with applications due by mid-December. Participating counties include Alpine, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba.
Participating agencies are the Sacramento Employment and Training Agency, the Golden Sierra job training agency, the North Central Counties Consortium, and the Yolo County Workforce Development Board.
