San Francisco blasts past 100 degrees, shatters all-time record high temperature
Sacramento-area residents looking to escape the heat by heading to the Bay Area on Saturday might want to think again.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, the temperature in downtown San Francisco was 104 degrees, an all-time record high for the city, according to a National Weather Service Twitter post. The area was also suffering from “patchy smoke.”
Saturday’s forecast is for a high near 96 degrees. Temperatures should be more inviting Sunday and Labor Day, with forecast highs of 81 and 76 degrees respectively.
