  • Portraits: Japanese internment camp survivors and relatives

Sacramento Bee photographer Paul Kitagaki Jr. in 2015 created "Gambatte! Legacy of an Enduring Spirit," a photo exhibition drawing upon Kitagake's portraits of Japanese internment camp survivors and their descendants. It was shown in the California Museum in 2015. This video featuring Kitagaki's work, originally posted in 2015, has been re-posted in light of national conversation in which the Japanese internment has been put forth as precedent for possibly registering Muslim immigrants.
