The body of a 75-year-old man was pulled Sunday morning from Lake Clementine in Placer County, officials said.

The man, who was not immediately identified, was reported missing by his family early Sunday, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post.

The man was believed to have been on the water in his boat all day Saturday, but officials said they found the craft at a marina near the Lower Lake Clementine Boar Ramp. The man’s truck and keys were also found at the marina, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Officials said evidence led them to believe that the man went into the water and may have drowned.

He was found at about 10:30 a.m. by members of the Placer County Dive Team, who began searching for him on Sunday.

“We recognize that this is a heartbreaking out come and extend our deepest condolences to the man’s family and friends during this difficult time,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
