Nevada woman arrested in Loomis business embezzlement case
Placer County sheriff’s detectives have arrested a Nevada woman on charges of embezzlement and fraud at a Loomis business.
Laurie Sayre, 54, of Sparks was arrested Thursday, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies say Sayre stole more than $65,000 from a Loomis business while working as a contract bookkeeper there since October 2015.
The department also said Sayre may have been attempting to steal an additional $3,000 when she was arrested.
She also worked as a contract employee for other companies in Placer County but has not been charged with any illegal activities involving those firms, the department said.
Sayre was being held in the Placer County Jail with bail set at $60,000. Detectives are following up with businesses to determine any other possible victims.
