A man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and other charges after Elk Grove police found a teen in an upstairs closet where authorities say the man had ordered her to stay.

At the request of Solano County Child Protective Services, Elk Grove officers went to a home in the 4600 block of Story Way about 4:45 p.m. Monday to check on the teenage girl. Police said Rodney Q. Green told them he had not seen her for months.

When officers went upstairs, they found the girl in the master bedroom closet. Officers determined that Green had told the girl to get into the closet and had threatened her, according to a police summary.

Police said Green forced the girl into a vehicle when she was walking along a Woodland street several days earlier. The two know each other, police said.

Green was booked into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment, detention of a minor with intent to conceal from parent, resisting officers and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
