Yuba County man arrested in drive-by shooting, armed robbery

A 19-year-old Plumas Lake man is accused of a firing shots into a residence, then robbing a convenience store early Thursday morning.

Yuba County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Travis Slotterback on suspicion of various offenses, including robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a weapon, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

The series of events began about 12:45 a.m. Thursday when Slotterback allegedly fired shots into an occupied home in the 2400 block of Empire Court in Plumas Lake. About 1:30 a.m., he allegedly committed an armed robbery at a market on River Oaks Boulevard, also in Plumas Lake. No one was injured in either incident, the news release said.

Investigators don’t believe the current residents of the Empire Court home are associated with Slotterback, but Slotterback may have once lived at that address.

Detectives located Slotterback about 5 a.m. at a home in the 1300 block of Sundance Drive and subsequently arrested him.

The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incidents.
