Alleged Olivehurst shooter who turned gun on himself dies after four days in hospital
The suspected shooter behind last Wednesday's homicide at an Olivehurst gas station died Sunday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Yuba County Sheriff's Department.
Oroville resident Sayer Stephen Daniels, 24, allegedly chased and shot 30-year-old Burhan Ahmed multiple times on the 1900 block of McGowan Parkway at around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday before shooting himself in the head inside a Dollar General store.
Ahmed died at an area hospital Wednesday, while Daniels was in critical condition until his death at around 10 a.m. Sunday.
A Sacramento resident, Ahmed had family in Yuba County and was an acquaintance of Daniels', sheriff's deputies said.
