Two-alarm fire erupts at Woodland Lions Club facility
A two-alarm fire erupted Thursday morning at the Woodland Reveille Lions Club.
The fire appeared to have originated in the attic of the Lions Clubhouse at 417 Lincoln Ave. at about 3 a.m., local media reported. Firefighters attacked the blaze from the outside but weren’t able to salvage the building, which was originally constructed in the 1800s and had been remodeled several times as it was transferred between organizations.
Crews from Davis, Winters, West Sacramento and other Yolo County cities responded to the fire as well. Local TV news broadcasts showed the fire dying down about 6:45 a.m.
The Lions Club meets at the clubhouse at 7 a.m. every Tuesday and rents out the facility when not using it.
No injuries were reported. The Woodland Fire Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
