Sacramento Police investigate homicide in Meadowview after victim dies in hospital

The victim of a shooting on Meadowview Road died of his injuries Saturday at a local hospital, and Sacramento Police are now investigating the case as a homicide.

The man was shot Friday in the area of 24th Street and Meadowview Road. At 1:21 p.m. Friday, officers found the man at the scene and fire personnel transported him to a hospital.

The shooting occurred between two vehicles, said Sgt. Vance Chandler, a police spokesman.

Police canvassed the area Friday, looking for witnesses and surveillance video.

It has not been determined whether it was a drive-by shooting, Chandler said. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
