Here’s a list of public pension debt for every state in America

Today’s Sacramento Bee features a map of state pension debts and a graphic that traces returns on 21 years of CalPERS and CalSTRS investments.

A few readers have asked for more detailed state pension and population data, which comes from the U.S. Census Bureau. So here it is.
