Service to the Gold Line was restored after a small fire Monday on a Sacramento Regional Transit light-rail car disrupted service in downtown Sacramento for less than two hours.

The train was stationary and empty on H Street when an electrical fire broke out in a front car, Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Capt. Keith Wade said. Smoke was visible underneath the car, according to Jessica Gonzalez, an RT’s spokeswoman.

No structures near the train were affected and no one was injured, Wade said. A tweet from the department shows several fire trucks were on the scene.

Light rail service is temporarily affected, according to Gonzalez. Gold Line trains will turn around at 8th and I streets, and passengers will need to walk to the Sacramento Valley Station to connect, according to a department tweet.

Supervisors were on scene to help commuters navigate the temporary disruption, Gonzalez said.

Service was restored at 11 a.m., RT officials said.
