Champions again, the Hornets are headed to the NCAA Regionals for the second time in program history.
Sacramento State’s baseball team won Saturday night’s Western Athletic Conference Tournament championship game 5-0 over Cal State Bakersfield in Mesa, Arizona, holding the opponent to just two hits.
The Hornets’ only other WAC title came in 2014. This year, Sac State dominated the tournament, beating Seattle U by a 11-1 final and Northern Colorado 10-1. Sac State also beat Bakersfield 10-6 in an earlier meeting in the tournament.
