Want to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Elk Grove? Here’s what’s going on at local businesses

Remember to wear green and put on your lucky socks for St. Patrick’s Day.

Elk Grove is expected to see sunny days this weekend and temperatures as high as to 74 degrees through Sunday’s holiday, according to the National Weather Service. The afternoon should make a nice time to get out and enjoy the day while you’re sporting your leprechaun-inspired attire.

Some local Elk Grove businesses are looking to captivate people’s taste buds by offering St. Patrick’s Day-inspired food and drink options.

Here are some places in and near Elk Grove to stop by this weekend in celebration of the holiday:

The Popcorn Store

Location: 9679 E. Stockton Blvd.

The Popcorn Store’s Elk Grove location is in a shopping plaza just off Highway 99’s southbound exit.

The St. Patrick’s Day flavors this year are their Lucky Charms, Irish Cream and Pot of Gold.

The Elk Grove store is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream

Location: 7701 Laguna Blvd.

Handel’s is bringing out its green ice cream for the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day and will be selling scoops to customers looking for a nice, cold tasty treat.

The featured ice cream flavors are the following:

“Green Monster”: for a limited time, a green vanilla ice cream with Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookies, according to the shop’s website

Mint chocolate chip: a mint ice cream with chocolate chip pieces

Mint with Oreo: a mint ice cream with Oreo cookies

Pistachio ice cream with pistachios

The hours at the Elk Grove location are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Elk Grove Donuts

Location: 10043 Bruceville Road, Suite 140

Elk Grove Donuts, according to its website, is a local, family-owned doughnut shop that creates classic pastries.

On St. Paddy’s Day, it will be serving themed donuts decorated with green frosting, sprinkles, leprechauns, gold coins and rainbows.

Elk Grove Donuts operates daily from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wolfe Heights Estates and Winery

Location: 9440 Bar Du Lane

This winery is located just outside of Elk Grove, off Bradshaw Road. According to its website, the estate sits on an 82-acre site filled with maintained grounds, olive trees and vineyards that include 3 acres of Tempranillo, 7 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2 acres of Petite Sirah.

Wolfe Heights Estate and Winery will be hosting its St. Patrick’s Day celebration all weekend, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

There will also be food trucks on site. .
