Roadway fatality

A 78-year-old woman who died in a crash this week in Elk Grove has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

The woman, Barbara Lee Jury, of Elk Grove, was driving her white Honda Accord near the intersection of Elk Grove Boulevard and Stonelake Drive late Thursday night when her vehicle made contact with a silver Honda Accord driven by a 51-year-old Sacramento woman, according to previous Sacramento Bee reporting.

The 51-year-old woman, who was hospitalized, collided with the woman’s vehicle after fleeing an earlier hit-and-run crash just minutes before at Elk Grove and Franklin boulevards, according to the Elk Grove Police Department.

Jury was pronounced dead at the scene.
