Rancho Cordova news

The city of Rancho Cordova is launching a new podcast, giving residents a behind-the-scenes look at local government.

The “Inside Rancho Cordova City Hall” podcast, produced by the city of Rancho Cordova in partnership with the Rancho Cordova Film Office, features interviews with local officials and project leaders about “the issues that matter most to residents and businesses,” according to a news release from the city.

“Go behind the scenes at City Hall and meet the people who are building the city, understand how decisions are made, and hear what’s ahead for Rancho Cordova,” the release said.

In the first episode, which has already been released, City Manager Micah Runner “pulls back the curtain on the work, strategy, and challenges shaping the fifth fastest-growing city in California,” according to the release.

The next episode will feature former Rancho Cordova Chief of Police Matt Tamayo and current Chief of Police Shaun Hampton, discussing the department’s biggest successes and future challenges. The city contracts with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office for law enforcement services.

Future episodes will discuss Mather Veterans Village, the city’s housing project for veterans in the Sacramento region; upcoming events planned by the city’s Community Engagement Team; and public art throughout the city.
