The Neighborhood Pizzeria in Sacramento says come get your favorite ‘for the final time’
An East Sacramento pizzeria will shut its doors after one last weekend run.
The Neighborhood Pizzeria – owned by Marvin and Bridgette Maldonado, the couple behind Federalist Public House – announced through Facebook on Thursday that the restaurant would be closing its doors for the final time Sunday. According to the post, the New York-style pizza joint had been open for 11 months.
“Thank you for allowing us to feed you. Thank you for allowing us to try and show you something new. Thank you for allowing us to feel like neighbors. Thank you,” the post read. “This will be our final weekend at 5401 H St. This will be our final weekend as The Neighborhood Pizzeria. Come join us for your favorite one more time, and for the final time.”
The pizzeria had been announced in October 2018 before setting up shop in a 1,500-square-foot East Sacramento home, where patrons could find bocce ball courts set up in seven re-purposed cargo containers and beer served in mason jars.
The restaurant’s calling card has been its Sicilian-style, square-sliced pizza, and its affinity for atypical toppings, like the Notorious P.I.G., with hot honey atop mozzarella, spicy coppa, salami and fresh jalapeno.
According to the post, the restaurant will maintain its regular hours, which indicate a 9 p.m. closure Sunday.
