Who makes the best sandwich in Sacramento? Here are 6 of the top spots, readers say
After two weeks of Bee readers voting on which Sacramento-area sandwich hubs deserved the top spot — the results are in.
In the first poll, around 1,460 people voted for their favorite sandwich spot and Roxi Deli & Barbeque, Corti Brothers, The Sandwich Spot, Beach Hut Deli and Dad’s Sandwiches ranked top 5.
Those sandwich hubs were then mixed with 12 reader submissions and posted in round 2.
During this process, one thing was made clear: Sacramentans feel strongly about their favorite sandwich shops.
With more than 2,500 votes, 1,000 up from the first round — here are the top picks:
Location: 3340 C Street, Sacramento
Ranking No. 1 in both rounds of voting, Roxie Deli & Barbeque received close to 700 votes in round 2. Bee readers’ go-to sandwich spot offers breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as catering services.
It gained 686 votes, or 27%.
Locations: Sacramento, Roseville, Elk Grove, Folsom, more.
Taking the second spot on the “Best Sacramento-area sandwich spot” poll and ranking in the top five for two weeks in a row, Beach Hut Deli offers hot and cold sandwiches, salads, nachos and more.
It gained 603 votes, or 24%.
Location: 5810 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento
Not only did Corti Brothers rank top five in both polls, it’s the only grocery store to make the top list. Corti Brothers offer sandwiches as well as cheese, fish, books, spreads and more.
It gained 311 votes, or 12%.
Location: 11210 Sun Center Dr., Rancho Cordova
Added in the second round of voting, Pocket Deli Ranked No. 4, making it on the top list. The sandwich spot offers hot and cold pocket sandwiches, bowls and more.
It gained 195 votes, or 8%.
Locations: Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, Roseville, Elk Grove, more.
In the first round of voting, The Sandwich Spot ranked No. 3. But this time, it ranked fifth and received 5% of the votes, taking Dad’s Sandwiches off the list. Depending on the location, choose between sandwiches, salads, sides and more.
It gained 127 votes, or 5%.
Location: 3675 J Street, Sacramento
Also added from a reader submission, Juno’s Kitchen & Delicatessen ranked last on the top sandwich spot list. At Juno’s, choose between sandwiches, salads and entrees.
It gained 110 votes, or 4%.
