Old Sacramento restaurant and beer garden closes after ‘wonderful adventure’
After more than four years of business, Hoppy Brewing Co. closed the doors to its Old Sacramento restaurant Monday.
Hoppy’s Railyard Kitchen & Garden took to social media Wednesday to announce its last day, thanking the Sacramento food scene for “positive memories” and a “wonderful adventure.” The unexpected news came just days after the restaurant announced it would temporarily close its doors Tuesday and Wednesday to give its employees a “much needed” holiday break.
“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you,” Hoppy’s Railyard Kitchen & Garden wrote in a farewell post to customers shared on both Facebook and Instagram. “May the memories we created together over the years remain positive and lasting.”
Hoppy’s Railyard at 1022 2nd St. opened its doors in 2018 with a 9,000 square-foot restaurant, taphouse and outdoor patio.
The restaurant served an array of beers on tap, brick oven pizza, burgers and sandwiches, salads and deserts. One of its signature dishes included a smokestack reuben with pastrami, swiss, sauerkraut, pickles and sauce.
The restaurant didn’t disclose the reason for its abrupt closing in its farewell post to customers. Hoppy owner Troy Paski couldn’t immediately be reach for comment.
