Bay Area-based wine bar with food, craft beer to open in Downtown Commons
Brentwood-based wine bar Vine + Grain will open in Sacramento’s Downtown Commons, according to a recently released DoCo site plan.
The bar’s drink menu boasts 50 wines from France, Italy, Germany, Spain, New Zealand, Argentina and the U.S., including several reds from Lodi. An employee at the Brentwood location confirmed the DoCo opening, which was first reported by the Sacramento Business Journal. Management did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Vine + Grain will open between Insomnia Cookies and Pressed Juicery near Macy’s on DoCo’s first floor, according to the site map. The Brentwood location’s limited food menu includes refined bar bites such as galbi nachos, cheese boards and truffle popcorn; it’s open 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and closes at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Wine and beer flights (Vine + Grain advertises 12 rotating brews on tap) will be available for purchase, as are “cham-bongs” — sparkling wines in a folded, easy-to-chug plastic chutes. Vine + Grain’s Brentwood location sells take-home bottles as well, and customers have been able to bring in their own wines for a $25 corkage fee.
Vine + Grain will be the latest wine bar in an already-competitive slice of downtown Sacramento. Fizz champagne and sparkling wine bar sits on the other side of DoCo across from Golden 1 Center, and Whired Wine Bar and Bailarin Cellars are each within two blocks.
