Gogi’s Korean BBQ, late-night Asian fusion hotspot, closes in downtown Sacramento

Gogi’s Korean BBQ in downtown Sacramento has closed for business, according to its website.

The spot at 15th and L streets was operated by local restaurateurs Mason, Curtis and Alan Wong. The Wong brothers also own the adjacent Park Ultra Lounge nightclub, Mix Downtown, Cafeteria 15L and Ma Jong’s Asian Diner.

Given its proximity to the Mix Downtown and Park Ultra Lounge nightclubs, and its ultra-late closing time of 2:30 a.m. after Friday and Saturday nights, Gogi’s had been a popular option for the post-nightlife crowd. Gogi’s also served up Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes.

The restaurant’s website bid farewell recently, with a message reading, “Thank You, Sacramento! GoGi Korean BBQ is now closed,” but no further explanation for the closure.
