Bogle Vineyards will buy meals for nearly 6,000 Sacramento hospital workers this week, spending more than $60,000 to stimulate a struggling local restaurant economy and feed those on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Clarksburg winery will buy meals for 5,900 nurses, doctors and other medical professionals at Mercy General Hospital, Sutter Medical Center, UC Davis Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center, according to a news release.

Food will come from Beach Hut Deli and Buckhorn Grill’s midtown locations, FatCat Bakery, Fixins Soul Kitchen, La Crosta, Mulvaney’s B&L, Urban Roots Brewery & Smokehouse and Zocalo. Each hospital will have a designated day for delivery this week, according to the release.

Six generations of Bogle family members have lived in the Sacramento region, and the last three have built the winery into an affordable national powerhouse. Wine Enthusiast named Bogle the American Winery of the Year in 2019.
