The company sells unique belts based on a ratchet system rather than holes, and has long been recording impressive growth rates, appearing on the Inc. 5000 list for the last four years in a row. However, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August amid concerns of overextension. SlideBelts made $12.2 million in 2018, according to Inc. Magazine.

These nine companies generated a collective $87 million in 2018, helping to make Sacramento one of the standout metropolitan areas in Inc.’s report.

Of the areas included, Sacramento contributed the fifth-highest revenue amounts. Los Angeles businesses brought in the most dollars, followed by San Francisco, San Diego and San Jose.
