Lazy river, waterslide and pool make south Sacramento County yard look like a resort
There is a gorgeous 6,352-square-foot home sitting on 20 acres in south Sacramento County, but the property’s resort-style backyard — which includes a lazy river, waterslide, waterfall and large swimming pool — steals the show.
The Sacramento Bee spent part of an afternoon at the home of businessman Paul Howard, who co-owns the New Glory craft brewery, for our Bee My Guest series spotlighting our favorite home features. Howard bought the home in June 2021 for $2.75 million.
See the Bee My Guest video of our favorite backyard above. (Also, see the form below to tell us about your favorite home feature.)
Located at 12500 Simpson Ranch Court, the residence is elegant and designed for entertaining. There are five en-suite bedrooms, a home office, theater room with seating for 11 and a 900-square-foot game room with a wet bar.
However, the main attraction of the property is the spectacular backyard. Among the features:
▪ A 3,200-square-foot solar-heated pool with huge Cabo shelves for tanning and kids’ play.
▪ A 22-foot waterslide built into a huge waterfall.
▪ Bridges leading to a center island.
▪ A 350-foot zip line with a raised platform.
▪ A sunken kitchen under a thatched roof with swim-up seating.
▪ A fire pit with seating for 15 people.
▪ And numerous hammocks for chilling in the shade.
