Here’s what we know about the Carr Fire and conditions in Redding

The latest on the Carr Fire burning in Redding:

Fatalities: Six confirmed, including Don Ray Smith, 81, of Pollock Pines, a private bulldozer operator killed Thursday while trying to contain the flames; fire inspector Jeremy Stoke, a Redding firefighter since 2004 who was killed battling the fire Thursday night; 70-year-old Melody Bledsoe and her great-grandchildren Emily, 4, and James, 5. The sixth victim hasn’t been identified.

Injuries: Three Marin County firefighters suffered burns and were treated. Mercy Medical Center in Redding reported treating eight people for burn-related injuries, none serious.

Missing: At least 10 other people are missing

Size: 95,368 acres, or about 149 square miles. The fire is twice the size of Redding, population 92,000.

Containment: 17 percent. No estimate of when Cal Fire will reach full containment.

Cause: Vehicle malfunction on Monday afternoon at Highway 299 and Carr Powerhouse Road in Whiskeytown.

Evacuations: More than 38,000 have been ordered to evacuate from communities on both sides of the Sacramento River. See the complete list of evacuations here.

Damages: 874 structures destroyed, 175 damaged, 5,012 threatened.

Weather outlook: High temperatures of 99 degrees are expected Sunday afternoon, spiking back up to 106 degrees Monday and Tuesday. A red flag warning is effect through Monday morning for the region.

Firefighting resources: 3,338 firefighting personnel, 334 engines, 17 helicopters, 68 bulldozers.
