Nominations are now open for the latest round of The Sacramento Bee’s Latino Change Makers.

In its second year, The Bee’s Change Makers series honors those in the Sacramento region committed to uplifting their communities through transformative actions, ideas and hard work.

The project is a collaboration with the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program to celebrate those among us who exact positive change in their respective fields. We’ve honored close to 100 individuals throughout the region in the Latino, Black, and Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

In the past, we’ve highlighted advocates and leaders who think outside the box for a better Sacramento.

Nominated leaders should:

Identify as Latino, Latina, Latinx, Latine, Hispanic, Afro Latino/a or Indigenous.

Be innovative problem solvers finding solutions to critical issues through community organization, education, arts and entertainment, writing, entrepreneurship, law, medicine and health care, science, politics, nonprofit leadership or activism.

Nominations will be open until Thursday, Nov. 30. All finalists will be evaluated by a panel from The Bee’s Equity Lab, NELP, past Change Makers and outside judges.
