Driver killed in I-80 rollover in West Sacramento. CHP says drugs or alcohol were involved
A driver died in a vehicle rollover Wednesday night on Interstate 80 in West Sacramento while driving at a high rate of speed, according to California Highway Patrol officials.
The CHP received calls of a crash at 10:12 p.m., and dispatched Woodland area officers determined there were no other passengers in the car, the CHP said in a news release.
After a preliminary investigation, officers believe the 2007 Honda was traveling eastbound on Interstate 80, east of Webster Street, when it traveled off the roadway and overturned, CHP officials said. Why the car overturned is unknown, but officers believe alcohol or drugs were involved.
The driver died from their injuries, according to the CHP. Their identity has not been released.
