Person dies after being pinned by vehicle on Auburn Boulevard in North Sacramento, police say

One person was killed Tuesday morning after a vehicle fell on top of her in North Sacramento, according to authorities.

The incident happened just after 6 a.m. in the 1600 block of Auburn Boulevard when a woman “was in front of the vehicle possibly working on the car when it rolled forward and ran her over,” said Officer Allison Smith, a spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department.

She was alone when the vehicle, which was running, pinned her and no one else was injured, police said.

Detectives from the Police Department’s major collision investigation unit were working with witnesses who rushed to aid the woman, who was pronounced dead by firefighters.

The woman’s identity was expected to be release by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin were notified.

Officers closed the area of Auburn Boulevard between Glenrose Avenue and Helena Avenue to investigate, police said.
