A popular restaurant chain known for its char-grilled burgers is expanding its presence in Northern California with two new locations in Sacramento-area suburbs.
The Habit Burger & Grill plans to open new restaurants in Folsom in Sacramento County and Cameron Park in El Dorado County.

What is The Habit Burger & Grill?
Founded in Santa Barbara in 1969, The Habit Burger & Grill is a fast-casual restaurant chain that specializes in char-grilled burgers and chicken sandwiches, its website said.
“We’re not just cooking,” the company said on its website. “We’re spreading the laid-back, feel-good vibe of our roots.”
The chain currently serves up “the fresh taste of the Golden State” at more than 370 locations spread across the nation — including 265 spots in California.
In the Sacramento region alone, there are 13 Habit Burger restaurants.
What’s on the menu?
The Habit Burger Grill offers a variety of burgers and sandwiches cooked to order over an open flame, according to the company’s website.
Signature sandwiches on the chain’s menu include the Santa Barbara Char, featuring two beef patties, avocado, caramelized onions and American cheese, and the Chicken Club with marinated chicken breast, green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, hickory-smoked bacon and fresh avocado. Both are served on sourdough bread,
Other options include the Teriyaki Char, ahi tuna filet and crispy chicken sandwiches.
The Habit Burger Grill also serves up salads and side dishes including fries onion rings, sweet potato fries and tempura green beans.
Dessert options are milkshakes and sundaes.
Where are new Sacramento-area locations?
The Habit Burger Grill is expected to open one location at The Shop at Folsom Ranch shopping center shopping center in Folsom, off Highway 50 near the East Bidwell Street interchange.
The chain is also opening a location at 3959 Cameron Park Drive in Cameron Park, replacing a KFC restaurant that permanently closed, the Sacramento Business Journal reported.

When will burger restaurants open?
The Habit Burger & Grill location is expected to open in late summer or early fall, according to Sacramento Business Journal reporting.
The chain’s newest Folsom location did not have an opening date as of Thursday, Feb. 20, according to Andrea Sessions, vice president of real estate developer The Edwards Company.
In an email to The Sacramento Bee, Sessions wrote that The Habit Burger & Grill location was under construction at The Shop at Folsom Ranch.
It’ll be the burger chain’s second location in Folsom.
