Folsom man located after authorities issue Silver Alert in four counties

Missing person found

Authorities said Monday they had located a missing elderly man from Folsom after three hours after issuing a Silver Alert for his disappearance.

The Silver Alert was broadcast about 9:30 a.m. in Sacramento, Yolo, Solano and Contra Costa counties, the CHP said.

According to the California Highway Patrol and the Folsom Police Department, the 73-year-old resident of Folsom went missing about 8 p.m. Sunday near Baldwin Dam Road and Digger Pine Lane.

Authorities said the man was last seen driving a 2018 maroon Ford F-150. Officials said the man was considered at-risk due to his age and a medical condition.

A missing person must meet certain criteria before the CHP activates a Silver Alert as requested by a local law enforcement agency. The victim must be at least 65 years old, may be in danger due to health or suspicious reasons and the investigating agency has exhausted all its resources.
