Authorities identify elderly man and woman found dead after report of shooting in El Dorado home
Two people were found dead Saturday in El Dorado County following a report of a shooting, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call of a shooting around 1:42 p.m. inside a home in the 5500 block of Crossbill Lane in Diamond Springs, which is about 40 miles east of Sacramento. Deputies located an elderly man and woman who were both deceased, according to a Facebook post by sheriff’s officials.
On Monday, authorities identified the couple as Douglas Hamilton, 82, and his wife, Sharon Hamilton, 78.
The Sheriff’s Office said the incident remains an active investigation.
