1 dead in crash between SUV, construction vehicle near Rosemont, Sacramento CHP says

Roadway fatality

A collision Wednesday morning between an SUV and a construction vehicle near Rosemont left one person dead.

The wreck happened just before 6 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol dispatchers. It was not immediately known what caused the collision between the sport utility vehicle and the large-wheel front loader on South Watt just south of Jackson Road.

The crash briefly closed South Watt for a time as emergency crews responded to the scene. The roadway has since reopened, according to the CHP.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office was expected to release the name of the driver, identified as a 30-year-old man, after relatives were notified of his death.
