A convention for avid video game players and developers is happening Saturday.

The 7th annual Capital Creative Showcase, hosted by the Sacramento Developer Collective, takes place at 11 a.m. Saturday inside the downtown Tsakopoulos Library Galleria, 828 I St.

It features some of the top video game developers and creative talents in the capital region, celebrating their creativity and innovation in the video game industry.

The event features a student showcase that displays a variety of projects that scholars from regional schools have worked on, including graduates from the Progressive Game Jam educational program, a program funded by the city’s Measure U grant to help youth learn about video game development and start one of their own.

Showcase attendees will be able to see the latest games developed by participants in the 11th annual PGJ program.

There will be an opportunity to play the newest games from independent video game developers and talented creators from across the region.

Additionally, there will be an Esports tournament where participants will compete for cash prizes. Tickets for the Esports tournament will be sold separately.

General admission tickets to the 7th annual Capital Creative Showcase are $15 online and $20 at the door.
