The state of California is seeking applicants for full-time positions in fields including legal work, economics and technology.

State jobs offer competitive benefits and enrollment in the nation’s largest public pension plan.

Although some positions require employees to work in the office, others offer the option of working remotely from home with hybrid schedules.

Each job has different requirements, which are listed.

According to CalCareers, there were more than 2,438 open government positions in the state of California as of Monday, Jan. 5, including 610-plus job openings in Sacramento County.

Attorney | Permanent, full-time

The Housing & Community Development attorney is responsible for providing legal advice and services for a variety of housing programs administered by the department.

Assignments may become progressively more complex and are to be performed independently with less supervision.

Human Resources Bureau chief | Permanent, full-time

Engineer, Water Resources | Permanent, full-time
