Pedestrian in lanes on Watt Avenue struck and killed by vehicle in Arden Arcade
A pedestrian died early Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle in Arden Arcade, authorities said.
The crash on Watt Avenue at Arden Way was reported just before 5 a.m. near Arden Middle School, according to the California Highway Patrol’s North Sacramento office and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District dispatch logs.
CHP North Sacramento spokesperson Officer Justin Fetterly said a vehicle traveling northbound on Watt Avenue hit an adult man who was in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.
The driver remained at the scene following the crash, CHP officials said.
The identity of the person struck was expected to be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once relatives are notified of the death.
