Citrus Heights motorcyclist killed in Van Maren crash identified as 56-year-old

Police tape at crime scene

A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning in a Citrus Heights crash after multiple 911 callers reported a collision on Van Maren Lane near Auburn Boulevard, police said.

Officers responded about 11:30 a.m. and found the rider unresponsive in the roadway. They attempted lifesaving measures, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.

The crash involved a motorcycle and another vehicle. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.

Southbound lanes of Van Maren Lane between Auburn Boulevard and Greenback Lane were closed during the investigation.

Preliminary findings indicate alcohol was not a factor, police said.

The motorcyclist was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Robert Donald Cutright, 56, of Citrus Heights.

Police asked anyone who witnessed the crash to call the department at 916-727-5500.
