Sacramento’s Midtown Farmers Market offers broad mix of musical guests, more in June
The Midtown Farmers Market treated visitors to jazz this Saturday as A King’s Dream performed classics on bass guitar and saxophone, kicking off a month full of experiences including musical performances and more.
“In addition to our bounty of fresh, locally grown and produced foods and artisan goods, we have entertaining music happening every single Saturday — today A King’s Dream (performed) jazzy classics,” Midtown Association Executive Director Emily Baime Michaels said.
Singer-songwriter Mayita Pacheco will perform at the farmers market from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. next Saturday. SMUD will also hand out giveaways from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. while supplies last.
A “Bagels and Bottomless Mimosas” event is also being held at the Teneral Cellars Tasting Room and Wine Lounge next Saturday, according to Baime Michaels, which is also the market’s Pride weekend.
Festivities continue June 20 as DJ Klean will play upbeat tunes from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Front Street Animal Shelter will also be on-site from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day with animals looking for their forever homes. Jasmine’s Apothecary booth will have a Juneteenth celebration with free bottles of Mimi’s Mossade while supplies last. Mimi’s Mossade is a sea moss lemonade.
The California Automobile Museum will be at the market 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 27 with vintage vehicles while Sacramento-based community connection marketing agency, 3fold Communications, offers free giveaways. Tess Andrea will perform music from several genres, including pop, funk and neo soul.
“These are just a few of the reasons why the Midtown Farmers Market is the number one farmers’ market in California and we’re vying for the top spot in the nation later this summer,” Baime Michaels said.
The Midtown Farmers Market is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, spanning six blocks. Music often takes place at the intersection of 20th and K streets, according to the Midtown Association.
