Rancho Cordova to host two-day Fourth of July celebration. Here’s what it features

Rancho Cordova is celebrating America’s 250th birthday on the Fourth of July with a two-day festival, including a fireworks show, a carnival, a run and a parade.

The two-day celebration begins July 3 and continues through July 4. Most of the festivities will be held at Hagan Community Park, 2197 Chase Drive.

Admission to the park is $5 in advance and $10 at the door, beginning at 4 p.m. Parking is $10 per vehicle, cash only, according to city officials. More than 20 food trucks will be available, as well as two beer vendors.

The park’s events will feature a circus performance at 6 and 7 p.m. each day and a concert at 8 p.m. each day, with band Thunder Cover performing on July 3 and The Spazmatics on July 4. A fireworks show will begin after each band’s performance.

Both days will also feature food-eating contests and art from Rancho Cordova students.

The festivities at the park also include a carnival, open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. July 3 and 4 and featuring rides, games and a Ferris wheel. All-day, unlimited passes to the carnival are $30 in advance until July 2 or $40 at the door, according to the city.

Parking closes at 9 p.m. and entry gates close to the events at 9:45 p.m., according to the city.

Independence Day will also feature the All-America Mile Run at 9 a.m., beginning at W.H. Williamson Park, 10551 Coloma Road. Registration is free for the first 250 runners and $5 for the next 250 runners, according to the city.

At 10 a.m. July 4, the city will host its parade, beginning at the intersection of Coloma Road and McGregor Drive and ending at Cordova High School, 2239 Chase Drive.

Coloma Road will close to all traffic beginning at 8 a.m. July 4 due to the run and the parade, according to the city.
