Woman, man injured in shooting in Loomis home; two children inside not harmed

One woman and one man were injured in a shooting Tuesday at a house on Thornwood Drive in Loomis, according to Jason Doolittle, a spokesman with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.

Two children were in the house when the shooting occurred and were not injured, Doolittle said.

According to Doolittle, deputies responded to a 911 call at around 5:11 p.m. Tuesday. The woman came out of the house with a gunshot wound to her upper biceps, accompanied by one of the children.

Deputies helped remove the other child from the house, Doolittle said, and then heard a single gunshot inside the house. Deputies then found the man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, according to Doolittle, and confirmed no other people were in the residence when the last shot was fired.

Doolittle said the woman and man were transported to nearby hospitals, and the sheriff’s office was still investigating.
