‘Find My’ suspects: Roseville police recover stolen Apple Watch after owner ‘pinged’ it

Two men were arrested last week in Roseville after police located a stolen Apple Watch using the “Find My” smartwatch app, authorities said.

A Roseville man alerted police that they had tracked their stolen watch to a parking lot in the 8600 block of Auburn Boulevard last Wednesday, the Roseville Police Department said in a Facebook post.

Arriving officers found a mobile home in the parking lot, and contacted two people inside who were on probation. While searching the mobile home, “the victim pinged his watch which was located in a cabinet in the rear of the motorhome,” the department said.

Police arrested Elijah Filson, 21, and Jacob Cummins, 38, on suspicion of possessing stolen property and controlled substances, according to the social media post. They were booked into the South Placer jail.
