Rocklin High School student arrested, accused of making threat to campus, police say
Police on Monday arrested a Rocklin High School student accused of making a threat toward the school, authorities said.
Rocklin High School administrators worked with police to investigate after learning that information was circulating on social media and on campus that a student had made the threat, the Rocklin Police Department said in a news release Monday evening.
“There were not any specific details in the threat, however enough to alarm our students and parents,” Principal Davis Stewart wrote in an email to parents, included in the police department news release. “Rocklin High School immediately investigated the situation and found there not to be any immediate danger, but in fact the threat had been made. Simultaneously, RHS administration notified the Rocklin Police Department who assessed the situation and arrested the student for making a threat.”
Police did not release the student’s identity, and there was no indication that the campus was locked down.
School officials contacted police around 10 a.m. Monday, according to the news release.
