Victim killed in Arden Arcade stabbing identified as 22-year-old Sacramento man

The victim killed in an Arden Arcade stabbing this week has been identified by the coroner as a 22-year-old Sacramento man.

Larry Hardy was pronounced dead at the scene, in the 3400 block of Whitney Avenue just off of Watt Avenue, at about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Sacramento County sheriff’s and coroner’s offices.

Sacramento County sheriff’s officials on Thursday announced the arrest of Garrick Correa, who faces a murder charge in Hardy’s death.

Detectives had indicated the fatal stabbing may have been related to a “verbal altercation” following a “domestic disturbance,” but the exact relationship between the suspect and victim was not clear, according to earlier statements from the Sheriff’s Office.

Correa remains in custody at the Sacramento County jail and is set to appear in court Friday afternoon.
