Police chase in south Sacramento County ends with burglars escaping on foot
A police pursuit early Friday morning in Sacramento ended in an unknown number of burglars fleeing on foot, according to the Elk Grove police and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. No arrests have been made.
The chase followed at least three burglary attempts between about 2 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. across Elk Grove and south Sacramento County, according to an Elk Grove police news release.
Police said burglars attempted to break into a business in the 9700 block of Elk Grove Florin Road around 2 a.m. and another business in the 8100 block of Sheldon Road around 2:15 a.m. but were unsuccessful.
Sheriff’s deputies then responded to reports of a burglary in south Sacramento County, where deputies engaged in a car chase that ended in Sacramento’s Valley Hi neighborhood, near Summergate Court, where one or more people escaped on foot.
“No one was apprehended” as of midday Friday, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sgt. Tess Deterding said.
The number of offenders was not known, and no descriptions have been released.
