Sacramento police: Elk Grove man’s shooting death could have ties to Shasta County
The Sacramento Police Department on Tuesday afternoon was asking the public for any information in the shooting death of an Elk Grove man, a homicide investigators believe could have ties to incidents in Shasta County.
James Your suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the June 15 shooting in the 800 block of Calvados Avenue in Old North Sacramento. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Homicide investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act of gun violence, Sacramento police officials said in a Facebook post. They did not indicate how the fatal shooting could be related to incidents in Shasta County.
The deadly shooting was reported shortly before 11:20 p.m., just north of Arden Way. Your, 24, and another man also struck by gunfire were found at the crime scene.
Officers administered first aid until medics arrived and both men were taken to a hospital. The other man’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Officers conducted a canvass of the area, questioned witnesses and found evidence, according to police.
